Sunshiney Day

I made this card for my parents.  As mentioned in a previous post, I like to send them an uplifting card every week or so, and I think this one will bring some cheer.   The image is a great retro beach scene freebie from The Graphics Fairy, and the sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC - thank you both!  This card was easy to make.  I printed the retro beach image, trimmed, and mounted on black cardstock.  Then I stamped the sun in black on yellow cardstock and fussy-cut.  I printed the sentiment on yellow cardstock and circle-punched.  Then everything was affixed to a striped panel, layered on black cardstock, and layered on to a white card base.  Lastly I embellished with 6 black gems.  Here are the supplies I used:
  • Stamp:  Sun (Studio G)
  • Ink:  StazOn Jet Black
  • Cardstock and DP:  Recollections
  • White Card Base:  Staples
  • Circle Punch:  Marvy Uchida
  • Gems:  Dollarama

    What a brilliant card. I love the image and the backing in the monochrome that is very popular. The added addition of the bright sunshine yellow looks gorgeous and really sets the card off.
