Gingerbread Easel Card

Hello, everybody! I've been having fun with the Alphabet Challenge over at Beccy's Place and her annual Month of Holiday Cards!  I've been skipping around with the letters of the alphabet, and today I'm revisiting Day 8 - G for Gingerbread!

I made an easel card with Beccy's PlaceGingerbread set!  This is my all-time favourite set of Beccy's and I use it every year!  It comes with the house, several kinds of cookies, and some word art.

I went with the pre-coloured images - I love this colour combo!  I fussy-cut all of the images and die-cut some swirly lollipops (Your Next Stamp) and stitched snowbanks (Poppystamps and Simon Says Stamp).  The house and tree cookies are popped up with craft foam and behind them is a die-cut stitched snowbank.  I made a little hinge for the gingerbread couple on a die-cut stitched snowbank.  This hinge stands up but will lie flat when the card is closed.

I added tiny die-cut bows (Your Next Stamp) to the gingerbread people, a bow-tie for the boy and a hair bow for the girl.  I used a line of pink gems as the stopper for the easel, as well as on the bottom edge.  The patterned paper was part of a card kit years ago, so I don't know the brand.

Here is an old photo from my childhood showing our Christmas tree with lots of homemade gingerbread cookies.  My mom and nanny would both hang gingerbread men on their trees, and I think that's where my love of gingerbread men comes from!

That card is beautiful. Gingerbread cookies are my favorites and I actually overdose on them. The pink is perfect. Your picture is great and I think it's wonderful with all the gingerbreads. Those are great memories.

What a wonderful memory Kitty, and it was so nice to read that someone else called their grandmother "Nanny". My nanny was always at our house for Christmas and I have many fond memories of our family traditions. Thank you for sharing yours.
I absolutely LOVE this card! Everything about it is fabulous. I love the colour scheme, the fold - especially the hinge for the gingerbread people, the embellishments and the way you have personalised everything. Gorgeous!
Cheers,
Beccy
