Hello, everybody! Today I'm sharing a thank-you card. I like to have a few on hand after the holidays as they always come in handy. I've been checking out some of the cute inspiration at the 2022 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and was inspired to CASE Becca Yahrling's card! She used Sizzix Thanks a Latte Empresslit (it embosses and cuts), and I've owned this product for a several years but have never used it. After seeing her card, I decided to try it!
I noticed that Becca used a different die for the coffee-to-go cup, but I used the die that came with this set. It's a one-piece die that forms part of the embossing folder, and it only cuts the outline of the cup, which is a bit disappointing. I had to die-cut it several times in the various colours (white, kraft, red, cream) and then fussy-cut into the pieces to make it work. I also embossed the red cup in a snowflake pattern
(Die'sire Embossalicious Let it Snow) because I noticed that Becca embossed her cup. The "thanks a latte" die is part of this Sizzix set and I like it a latte!
I don't often CASE a card this closely but it was fun, and I like how it turned out! Of course I had to add a kitty (Becca's card had a mouse)! This kitty is from Simon Says Stamp Right Meow, which I coloured with markers and added dots with a white paint pen, and then fussy-cut so I could pop it up on foam tape. Just like Becca, I added Diamond Stickles to the steam but instead of the gems for embellishments, I went with punched snowflakes in red. I was unable to include a photo of her card from Flickr, but you can
click here and take a look.
I was also inspired by the following challenges:
Thank you for looking at my card! Wishing you a joyful day!
That little kitty is too stinking cute! Love the touch of glitter!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous card, very striking with the deep red and white!
ReplyDeleteGreat CASE of Becca's card (I had to go check it out to see where your inspiration came from). I really like the embossing on the cup, and of course, you HAD to add a kitty! Thanks for playing with Cut It Up Challenge.
ReplyDeleteFantastic card Kitty, the cup looks fantastic... definitely worth the effort. The little kitten is very cute in his winter sweater, love the addition of the white dots. The little read snowflakes look great and who wouldn't love the glittery steam?! Thanks for sharing the link to Becca's beautiful card, you've done her creation justice for sure.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Beccy
You made Becca's card your own! It looks great. I love the snowflakes and the kitten is adorable in her little sweater. I know you can get dogs into sweaters, but I've never seen a cat wear one!
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad about the design of that die. Fussy cutting kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? That's probably why you hadn't pulled out the die set sooner.
Thank you for sharing your card with us at Cut it Up!

Hi Kitty! Your CASeing turned out so beautiful, and how many work you made on it! And very accurate! If you haven't said about all your fussy cut and assembling, no one would know it!! Great work embossing the red parts with that snowflake pattern and love so much the hot embossed sentiment on the kraft piece! The embossed part of the background is very beautiful and I noticed the sparkling on the coffee vapour, well done, it looks so pretty!! The kitty with his sweater is delicious :) and your red snowflake sequins add the perfect touch as always you do!
ReplyDeleteHugs and love on your way dear friend! Have a peaceful weekend!
Are you kitten me??!! LOL This is so fabulous!! Love all the red, the kitty is purrfection and the snowflakes are also purrfect!! And you have such a great mind about the fussy cutting; I never thought about that and just found a cup that was similar in my stash and it just happened to be a super sponsor (Kat Scrappiness). ;-) Love it, my friend. It was an honor to be cased! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove all the embossing and shine on this fabulous card! So pretty.
