Gingerbread Treat

Hello, everybody!  Today I'm sharing a yummy winter holiday card!  I haven't been around blogland much lately but I wanted to meet my goal of making two winter holiday cards this month, so here I am!

My card used a lot of scraps (snippets). Aside from the adorable image (Twinkle Lane Designs - Coloured Gingerbread Man), all of the paper and cardstock were scraps, including the kraft cardstock.  It wasn't quite wide enough for an A2 card front, so I added scraps of glitter cardstock along the left side.

I began by applying embossing paste on the kraft cardstock through a snowflake stencil (Hot off the Press Snowfall).  I added the strips of glitter cardstock and a torn scrap of music-patterned paper (BoBunny).  I printed two copies of the image and fussy-cut both.  On the second one, I fussy-cut only the gingerbread man so I could pop him up on foam tape.  I punched three snowflakess (Recollections punch) from the scrap of red glitter cardstock and adhered. I stamped a sentiment in the lower right corner (SugarPea  Designs Sweet Treats Christmas) and finished the card by applying Star Dust Stickles to the gingerbread's icing.

I would like to support the following 10 challenges:

  18. I love the snippets you used for background and accents. Just a really fun design. And I really like that image that Outlawz had this month. We've been working a lot on re-roofing our barn. Finally got it under roof yesterday just in time for an all-day rain today. The cap isn't finished yet so it was leaking a bit at the very top but at least most of it is dry. My brother lost his fight with Covid-19 last week. It's really tough to not be able to be with them while they are sick. His wife did get to stay with him after they took the ventilator out and he passed. He would have been in the hospital for 4 weeks. Please stay safe.
