I have been so inspired by the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop already and it's only the first day! Woohoo! Thank you to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden, who hosts this fun hop and makes us appreciate our kitties just a little more than we already do!
After seeing all of the kitty inspiration over at the Hop, I ended up making three more cards today! Here is the first one, and I will post the other two shortly.
There is a 3 Colors challenge at Mod Squad Challenge Blog, and it was actually quite a challenge for me! I normally use a lot of colours on my cards, but their challenge is to use only three colours: black, brown, and cream. The rules are tough - you must also include a tag on your card, and there can be no white, not even for the card base!
I stamped the kitties in black on cream cardstock and then mounted it on black cardstock and then a brown card base. (Sorry I do not know the source of this stamp as I received it in friend mail.) I stamped a sentiment at the top left (Your Next Stamp - Summer Blossom Fluffy Kitten). At the bottom right, I added a tiny die-cut tag (A Jillian Vance Designs - DieLuxe Tiny Tags Die) with a "meow" stamp (The Greeting Farm - Purrfect Cats). Lastly I tied some brown twine (American Crafts) on the tag.
To make sure I didn't stray from the three colours, I stuck to using the black, brown, and cream paper from the Recollections Coffee and Cream cardstock pack:
I would also like to support the following challenges:

ReplyDeleteYou card turned out great with the 3 colors - lots of kitties and super cute thanks for linking up to Mod Squad!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you had that paper stack so you wouldn't stray from the theme. I love all those kitties in a group.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!!!! I love your beautiful image. Also, I'll give you a thumbs up of using only black, white and brown (for the Mod Squad Challenge). I'm also jealous you got to make three cards today for the hop. I had big plans to stay in my craft room and create cat cards today too but alas I have not even been in there today! Sigh.
ReplyDeleteYou may have troubles with only 3 colors, but you have done a prrrr-fect job with this 3 colours only card. Love the sentiment and the simplicity.
ReplyDeleteLove all the different cats in your card.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fabulous stamp and great work for that challenging challenge. Fabulous! xxD

I saw your trio of beautiful cards on the Cat Lovers Hop and came over for a closer look. This image is so much fun, and looks really classy and elegant in neutral tones. I really like that tiny tag with the MEOW sentiment to finish off this card perfectly
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful card, Kitty! The cat stamp is gorgeous and looks fabulous with the neutral colour scheme. (What a tough challenge ... and then to not use white!) The tiny Meow tag is super sweet! xx

ReplyDeleteIt's a hop, so I'm not sure if I need to comment on my own cards. Oh well, I will anyway! I love how this one turned out!
ReplyDeleteLove this image great card.
ReplyDeleteLove the bunch of adorable cats.
ReplyDeleteThose fur babies are all so precious, Kitty! I love your card design.
ReplyDeleteYou used the 3-color scheme very well. Now one of these days I'll have to try the 3-color rule rather than using nearly every color in the pencil box.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your kitty card! Beautiful design! This is my first year participating in the Cat Lovers Hop - we have eight fur babies (Poopie, Molly, Jack, Walter, Tigger, Milo, Dusty and Mocha Latte) that we love to the moon and back! I'm so happy to see you here also and have the chance to visit your blog!
