Bee Yourself... You're Awesome

Hi, everyone! Today I'm sharing an encouragement card for a child. The Bee Strong image was sent to me for free since I joined last month's challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs (thank you!).  You can join at any time; see here for details.

This image comes with a Bee Strong sentiment, but I decided to go with Bee Yourself... You're Awesome.  I fussy-cut the bee so I could pop her up on foam tape. I went with non-traditional colours for my bee!  I used a bunch of old scraps/snippets of patterned paper and cardstock so I'll be joining Pixie's Snippet Playground. All products used are listed below.

  • Digital stamp:  Gerda Steiner Designs Bee Strong
  • Clear stamp:  Sentiment (unmarked)
  • Colouring medium:  Touch Five markers
  • Die:  Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders, Cross-stitched Tag (unmarked)
  • Patterned paper:  My old Dollarama stash
  • Embossing folder: Tim Holtz Honeycomb
  • Other:  Heart punch, washi tape, Dymo label maker

I was inspired by the sketch at Connie Can Crop:

  2. OMG! Your bee is SO cute and I love the Bee Yourself expression. As the Mom of a tween son, a card like this would be so perfect (albeit with a little less pink since he's a boy!). Love the non-traditional colors though. I also want to share some exciting news with you because I know you'll be happy for me. I have been selected to be a video artist designer for CottageCutz. I am so EXCITED I can hardly stand it. I will have a blog entry about it soon but I can't help telling some people ahead of time. Did I say I'm excited!!? Ha, ha!
