Chippy's Love Letters

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Amy Crafty Purple Frog - thank you for joining me!

Yesterday we had a huge snowstorm so I had to turn off the computer because our power was flickering. Thankfully, we did not lose our electricity like so many other areas did.  I'm a bit behind in my blog visiting (again!), but I'll get around to see you soon!  I've shared some snow photos below!

Today my card features a squirrel!  I named him Chippy!  Chippy has received lots of love letters and cards in his mailbox!  I coloured sweet Chippy and cut behind his paw to insert the love letter (there's an apple behind there hehe!) and then fussy-cut.  For the sky, I made a DIY stencil with a cloud die and then sponged with Distress Ink.  The mailbox and love letters have all be been edged with Distress Ink as well. All supplies are listed below.

Here are some photos showing our snow.  We could barely get our front door open - that's about 3 feet of snow on our front step!

There's my car under all that snow!

Another view looking out our front door!

This is our back deck, looking out the patio door!

  1. Oh my!!! I don't know if I'm more impressed by your too much cute card, or by all that snow!!! I'm stunned by both!! 3 feet of snow are really a BIG quantity!! And the wonderful place when you live feel just magical so white! :)

Love Chippy (such a perfect name for this little guy!)and so clever cut around his paws to put the mails! The mailbox with all the other mails looks amazing and such wonderful background!! The cloudy sky is a delight and love the snowbanks and the little banner! Fabulous frame, too, it compliments perfectly the card!
Hugs, stay at home and take care! Snow is so cold! :D

  2. An absolutely stunning card Kitty. The most gorgeous little scene. The colours are so pretty and all the the dies work together to make a beautiful scene.

The photos taken around your home look like a winter wonderland although I imagine so much snow causes lots of problems. I don't think I've ever seen such deep snow myself. Barbxx

  4. I love Chippy. He's so cute. The sky is beautiful on your card.

That snow is so pretty. I'd love to play in it. For 2 days. Then, I'd want to come back to Florida. I can't believe your car is buried underneath all that snow. It's just incredible. I bet y'all have to stock a pantry full of food at winter.

  5. Chippy is so adorable. Love that mailbox with all the letters. We have extremely warm weather right now which is so strange...I just came in from an errand and it was 48 degrees!!! The snow we had is quickly melting and then at night the puddles freeze on the driveway.

  11. This is really adorable Karen cute little squirrel!! I love the snow I was in MI in December and there was 12 inches from the snowstorm. I did not like the storm part so much, but once the roads were clear it was fun. Ilove being the first one to make footprints in it.

  68. Hi there! Congrats on your recent win! Your card is beyond adorable. The details in it are pretty impressive - as are your snow photos. I'm from North Dakota originally, then lived in MN before finally settling into more temperate North Carolina. You look like you might be in WI to me. Near my ND home town, the Amtrak train got stuck this week. They ran into a 25' high 200' long snow bank that formed after a storm! It took 13 hours to get it going again. It's been crazy.
