Cards for Hug a Heart Card Drive #4

Hello, everyone! Today I'm sharing more heart-themed cards for the Hug a Heart Card Drive!  If you missed the Hug a Heart Card Drive Blog Hop, you have until February 8 to comment and win - see my post here.

Christina Hor is collecting handmade cards with a heart theme (non-Valentine’s Day) to distribute to children who are Heart Center patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The card drive runs from January 16 to February 14 and corresponds with Heart Month in February. I hope you will consider sharing your talents and make some cards to brighten a child's day! There are prizes too, so please check out all the details here. The deadline to receive your cards is February 14 so you still have time!

I have a whole bunch of cards to share, so this is a photo-heavy post!  Although most of the cards I made for the card drive were gender-neutral, I did make some that lean more towards the girly side and others that boys might enjoy.

For the girly cards, Hello Kitty® is the star! I've always loved Hello Kitty®, and I actually have a small HK collection - I just can't resist her! So I broke into my Hello Kitty® stash to make these cards! See product list below each card.

  • Image: Hello Kitty® Valentine (Sanrio, Distributed by Paper Magic Group)
  • Clear stamp: Sentiment (Your Next Stamp Woodland Cuties)
  • Die: Gina Marie Designs Bow
  • Embossing folder:  Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart
  • Other:  Heart punch (unmarked)

The two cards below feature lenticular images so there's a fun element as you tilt the card in different directions!  Each lenticular image has three different views as you tilt it.

  • Image: Hello Kitty® Lenticular Valentines (Sanrio, distributed by Paper Magic Group)
  • Clear stamp: Sentiments (Your Next Stamp)
  • Die: Gina Marie Designs Bow, NCraft Postage Stamp
  • Embossing folder: Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart
  • Other: Heart punch (unmarked)

Here's a close-up of the lenticular image as it changes:

Here all three cards together:

For the boys, I went with a Star Wars® theme, yet still incorporating the heart theme for the Hug a Heart Card Drive!  I made five of this style, again using fun lenticular images!

  • Image: Star Wars® Lenticular Valentines (starwars.com, distributed by Paper Magic Group)
  • Clear stamp: Sentiment (Your Next Stamp)
  • Die: Gina Marie Designs Stitched Heart, NCraft Postage Stamp
  • Embossing folder: Cuttlebug Cross Your Heart

I'm linking up to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #10 as I've used some NBUS here.  The Postage Stamp die was purchased last summer and this is its first use.  The oldest NBUS items are the lenticular Valentines. They were purchased in a post-Valentine's Day sale several years ago (75% off, I'm thinking) and this is the first time they've seen the light of day.
