I hope you will head over to Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge to look at my card and find out which row or column inspired me!  I would be so grateful if you could leave some love for me over at Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge - I will be popping over there to read your sweet comments!

Sneak Peek

Thank you to Ka and Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for having me as your guest designer! I had fun!

Wishing everyone a joyful day! Just a reminder that I'm on a blog break now, but I'll be back sometime in May! Until then, Happy Spring and Happy Crafting!

Blog Break

Hello, everyone! I will be taking a blog break for the next couple of months. We have contractors coming to our house in April to do some insurance repairs. You might remember they were supposed to be here last fall but our case got delayed due to a large backlog of similar cases.

We've been waiting since last March so I'm glad this is finally happening! The water damage is in nearly every room, and we have to move out of our house for 4-6 weeks! I have a lot to do to get ready so I'm starting my break now to get organized before the contractors arrive. In a few weeks, after we move out, I will have no internet service (I have no Smartphone or the like, just a desktop PC!) so I will be completely offline. I will admit I am stressed out, and being sick for over a week hasn't helped!

On a positive note, I will be back with a special scheduled post as a Guest Designer later this month so stay tuned!  Thank you for your support!  I will see you sometime in May!

Knitty Kitty Scene Card

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Lilian YF - thank you for joining me!

Today I'm sharing some inspiration for the Knitty Kitty Digis Design Team!  I made a fun little scene card with the adorable Hanging Around For You digital image! I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils, mounted it on a brown scrap, rounded the corners, and popped it up with foam tape. I also added some accents with a white gel pen. I love this cute image!

I began the scene with the sky and sponged Tumbled Glass Distress Ink using a cloud mask that I made with Poppystamps Delicate Cloud Border. For the grassy hills, I die-cut several patterned paper scraps using Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes and Lawn Fawn Grass Border. I added Cheery Lynn Birch Tree and decided to add some leaves to give the tree a spring look.  I die-cut Cheery Lynn Flourish Leaf Strip, trimmed them from the strips, and adhered each leaf individually, definitely a labour of love!

Next I added a number of die-cut flowers (Impression Obsession) with a tiny red gem in the centre of each. I thought it would be fun to add some kitties so I die cut Curious Cat and one of the Friendly Kitties, both from Poppystamps. To finish off the card I added two large red metal butterflies, two small red crystal butterflies, and a tiny hummingbird charm.

Lucky Cat Wallet Card for Wealth

Hi, everyone!  I have one more project to share today!  Still miserable with the flu but I finally did some crafting!  It's a tiny wallet card, measuring 2" x 3 1/4", which is slightly smaller than a credit card. I made this for Brian, who occasionally buys lottery tickets but hasn't been very lucky.  I am planning to laminate it so he can carry it in his wallet and hopefully his luck will change!

I'm joining Darnell's NBUS challenge again so I've used a number of items for the first time. This is a double-sided card, which I die-cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The front features Lucky Cat (also known as maneki-neko, a common Japanese figurine often believed to bring good luck/good fortune to the owner).  This stamp from Lawn Fawn's My Lucky Charm clear stamps is a NBUS item. I coloured it with Prismacolor pencils in the traditional colours of maneki-neko and then fussy-cut. I also added gold Wink of Stella on the neck charm.

Before creating an ink-blended background, I gold heat-embossed the sentiment from MFP Stamp Shop. Then I blended Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, and Lucky Clover Distress Inks.  (Lucky Clover is a NBUS item - had it for a while and just removed the plastic!). Then I spritzed with water and added splatters of Lucky Clover - for luck!  I inked the edges with Versamark and then gold heat-embossed.

For the back I used some NBUS patterned paper from Shimell - I thought it coordinated perfectly with my ink-blended background on the front. I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn directly on the patterned paper.  The horseshoe was stamped on a snippet, coloured with watercolour markers, and fussy-cut.

Bunny Hugs

Hi, everyone!  Sorry I haven't been around to visit lately.  I've had a nasty bug and it's been hard to shake. I'm still miserable but I did do a bit of crafting for the first time in over a week! Before I go any further, I would like to thank several of my sweet friends who sent emails to check on me - I was touched by your thoughtfulness! I hope to be around to visit your blogs soon.  In the meantime I wanted to join Darnell's NBUS challenge before it ended - today is the last day!

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

The cute Carrot Bunny is this month's progressive challenge image from Gerda Steiner Designs, and I received it for free because I joined Gerda's challenge last month. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut so I could pop him up with foam tape.

Let's start with the first NBUS item, Poppystamps Thicket Frame die, which is new and never used. I feel like we're peeking through the thicket to spy on this bunny! I die-cut the frame from green cardstock and applied Mowed Lawn Distress Ink with an ink dauber over the leaves and also through the holes in the die.

For the background, I used Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes and did some ink blending with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks and splashed some water droplets. (Twisted Citron is a NBUS item - had it for a while and just removed the plastic!)  I stamped the grass stamp repeatedly with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink all over the field. (Grass stamp from Stampin' Up - old wood-mounted stamp that I had for many years - I think this stamp might also be a NBUS item.) The sky was ink-blended with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks and I sprayed some water to add texture.

The sentiment stamp from My Creative Time Color Me Happy was white heat-embossed on a teal scrap. (I've used sentiments from this stamp set before but not this particular one, which is actually two separate words, so they are another NBUS item!)

Froggie Pop-up Box

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome my newest follower - Moira Curle - so nice to have you here! Today I am sharing a pop-up box card! No kitties today! I made this for a family member who likes frogs!  This is only the second box card I've made, and the first one was a couple of years ago. I had to search Google and watch videos to figure it out! Warning:  Lots of photos! I wanted to share each section!

I searched through my stash for all of my frog images! The cute Frog with Heart is from Gerda Steiner Designs and it was a freebie at one point (thank you!).  I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils and fussy-cut.  I added clear Wink of Stella on the heart and Glossy Accents on his eyes and heart.  I also added some freckles with a black gel pen.

The Frog Prince is from Tiddly Inks Froggie Thoughts, and this is also a freebie (thank you!), still available! I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils, fussy-cut, and added gold Wink of Stella to his crown and Glossy Accents to his eyes.

The patterned paper is from Forever in Time. I die-cut Impression Obsession Cattails and inked them with Distress Inks. I added a few Jolee's frog stickers, sparkly dragonfly from Forever in Time, and some butterfly and flower gel stickers. The grass die-cuts in the middle of the box were leftovers from another project.

The two photos above show the box when it's open and on display - I love how it turned out! Next I'll share each part individually.

Above I used a fun sentiment from Scribbles Designs called Time's Fun. I stamped a Lawn Fawn Word Bubble and cut with the coordinating die. The frog is a puffy sticker and I added three fly images from Insectox.

The Cute Vintage Frog and Vintage Dragonflies above are freebies from Graphics Fairy (thank you!). I fussy-cut and covered the frog with Glossy Accents. Two strips of green washi tape were added.

The adorable pre-coloured frog is from Cre8ive Hands and was a freebie at one point (thank you!). I fussy-cut and added Glossy Accents to his eyes.  The heart and word bubble are from Lawn Fawn.

Above is a gorgeous image from Beccy's Place called Frog and Oleander.  I used the pre-coloured image and fussy-cut.  The word bubble/sentiment die-cut was a leftover from a previous project (sentiment from Doodle Pantry Bunny Wabbit and word bubble from Lawn Fawn). The grass die-cut is also left-over from a previous project and I inked it with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. The dragonfly is from Impression Obsession Cattails and I inked with Distress Inks.

The above frog was a freebie a few years ago from From the Pond, and I used the pre-coloured version and fussy-cut.  The sentiment and word bubble are from Lawn Fawn.

Above is a puffy frog sticker and dragonfly gem. Below shows how the box all folds up and fits inside an A2 envelope. I know the recipient is going to love this!
