Dove of Peace

Hello, everyone! Before I get started, I would like to welcome three new followers - ionabunnyC. M.Taylor, and Sidelle Menon - thank you for joining me!

Today I'm sharing two cards I made with a gorgeous Dove of Peace die that I won over at the playground (thank you, Di!).  This is the first time I've used it so this is my NBUS item! If you don't know what NBUS means, please check out Darnell's fun challenge over at djkardkreations!

Card #1
I made a watercolour background and splattered it with water droplets to add some texture.  The watercolour panel was then die-cut with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles.  I finished it off with a few clear sequins.

Card #1
I would like to support the following 5 challenges with Card #1:
ABC Christmas Challenge Q for Quick Layout UE
Christmas Cards All Year Round Bright Summer Colours 2/5
Craftin Desert Divas Watercolour 1/4
djkardkreations AG w NBUS #7 1/3 C5

Card #2
I made a watercolour background and splattered it with water droplets to add some texture. The watercolour panel was then die-cut with Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles. I adhered four decorative corner die-cuts (La-La Land Crafts) and finished it off with some clear sequins

Which card to you prefer?  I can't decide!

  2. Well I love both cards Kitty! So nice to see you using the die set - wonderful backgrounds as well! I do like how the corner die you used sort of echoes the swirls in the dove's tail, They look like they were made to go together!

  9. Kitty, these are gorgeous cards! Your watercolor backgrounds are so beautiful! Just perfect for showcasing that lovely dove die!
Thanks for your comment on my hedgehog card. I spend quite a bit of my craft money at Gina's store, but I like to tell myself it's good to support local businesses! Plus Gina has become a friend over the years, so if I'm going to spend money on dies anyway (and I know I am!), I like to buy from her.
On another note, we are looking for guest designers over at Twisted Thursday. Would you be interested? You'd get free digi stamps to use in your card(s). My email is carrieannsheridan@gmail.com. Just send me an email if you are interested. You are so talented! We would love to showcase your work!

  12. I can't decide, too!! They are both so beautiful with your fab backgrounds!! The corners in the second one look gorgous, love them so much! But the first one is more delicate. This dove is wonderful and you have shown it so well! You are very talented my friend, you can make a wonderful card card with only a diecut and some ink!

  16. Wow, those dies really stand up beautifully to your bold backgrounds! These cards are both sensational, Kitty! I can't really decide which I like better. You'd think I would like the first one better, but I have to say those corner elements really add a WOW factor to the dove's swirly design. Thank you so much for the shoutout and for playing in my NBUS Challenge #7!! Hugs, Darnell
