Hello, everyone! Today I've made a collage-style card with stamped background. I was inspired by Mrs. A's
Butterfly Challenge theme of Butterflies plus Music Notes.
Although I have been enjoying CAS cards lately, I also like adding lots of layers, so this was a fun card to make! Anyone who follows my blog knows I enter a gazillion challenges, and every once in a while I am lucky enough to win a random draw! Today's card features some of my prizes and I would like to thank the sponsors! First there's the background paper that covers a white card base. There are two different specialty papers - I believe they are cotton. I won them from
DL.ART - thank you, Diana! They just arrived in the mail today and I thought they would be perfect for my card. On the pale pink paper, I stamped music notes repeatedly. The paper has swirls of stitching and you can see it peeking out in a few places.
The next layer is a page out of an old song book I got at a thrift store. I die cut it with Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangle, sponged Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink around the edges, and stamped a butterfly repeatedly in Brilliance Pearlescent Coral. The clear stamp was part of a prize from the
Butterfly Challenge - thank you, Mrs. A! Next I added two butterfly postage stamps. For a focal point I used an image from
Gecko Galz collage sheet called Nature's Bliss; it was a freebie at one point, either in a blog hop or from their
newsletter - thank you! I printed it on photo paper, trimmed the image, and layered it with brown and black cardstock.
The beautiful black flower was a prize from
Flourish with a Bling (thank you, Lucy!), and I added two die-cut leaves (Cheery Lynn Rose Leaf Strip) that were snippets left over from another project. The Just for You ticket sentiment is from
Digital Delights. Lastly I added a die-cut butterfly (Memory Box Kaleidoscope), cut from a leftover snippet of black cardstock, which I accented with a pink pearl from Want 2 Scrap (also in the prize from
DL.ART, thank you!).
Here are the stamps used. The music notes are from Michael's:
Thank you for looking at my card! Wishing you a joyful day!
