Butterfly Hello

Hi, everyone!  My card today was inspired by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge.  This time the theme is Butterflies and Y for Yarn.  I saw an awesome card by Shari Carroll over on the Simon Says Stamp blog and I loved it so much that I decided to CASE it - you can see her card here.

I don't have the Simon card kit so I used what I had. I started with kraft cardstock (DCWV) and applied Brilliance Gold Galaxy ink through a Heidi Swapp chevron stencil to make a chevron strip.  I die cut a butterfly (Cheery Lynn Small Exotic Butterflies #1) from MME patterned paper. Using the negative die-cut, I rounded the corners and layered it onto a DCWV metallic patterned paper with foam tape. I added a Memory Box Rhone Butterfly in yellow into the negative die cut.

I die-cut the Savvy Dies hello from black cardstock and black craft foam and layered them together and applied a coat of Glossy Accents.  I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental) and cut the words apart.  I made a triple-loop bow out of yellow yarn and added a thin strip of black cardstock along the left edge. To finish off the card, I added a number of black sequins. Definitely not as CAS as Shari's card, but I'm happy with how it turned out!

I would also like to join the following challenges: Beccy's Place September AG UE; Cheery Lynn Things with Wings 1E; Craft Your Passion Always AG 3/3;Crafting from the Heart 2/3; Crafty Gals Corner AG 1/2; DL.ART September Linky AG 1/day; Inspiration Destination AG UE; Not Just Cards AG UE; Penny's Paper-Crafty Use a Bow or Christmas 1/3; Scrap and Craft Butterflies 1/3; Scrapbook Blessings Club AG optional Favourite Technique (stencilling and using die cuts) UE; Simon Says Stamp Monday Love this Technique (stencilling and using die cuts) 3/5; Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Die Crazy 1/5; The Craft Barn Stencils/Masks 1/3; The House That Stamps Built Repeat Impressions WIW Photo Inspiration Challenge ~ S1615 UE; Word Art Wednesday AG w Uplifting Sentiment 1/5
