Hugs and Kisses (Lost Coast Designs stamp)

Hello, everyone!  I've been wanting to play along over at Lost Coasters Review ever since I discovered their challenges last fall.  But I only have a few of their stamps, and they didn't fit the challenge themes. This time I lucked out!  The theme for February is Girls, Girls, Girls, and after looking through my crafty stash I discovered this sweet stamp!

She's called Kitty Girl from Lost Coast Designs and I stamped her in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid. In hindsight, this was probably not the best ink choice since some of the stamp detail is lost, but you can see that she is holding a kitty!  I do love this colour so I went with it anyway!

By the way, if you have any Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps, why not ink them up and join the challenge over at Lost Coasters Review. This is my first time playing there - they need 10 entries before awarding a prize and I think I'm number four!

So getting back to my card... for the background, I heat-embossed some Stampin' Up stars in white (The Artful Stamper) and added 3 strips of washi tape.  Still not even making a dent in the washi tape collection but doing my best!  The upper-most tape is very sparkly and looks amazing in person! The lower-most tape was from my lovely friend Marion (thank you!). The sentiment is a clear stamp from Clearly Besotted and I stamped it in SU Going Grey.

I was also inspired by The Book of Life challenge over at Red Carpet Studio, The movie poster was provided for inspiration.  On it there is a girl holding a pig; on my card, the girl is holding a kitty. I am also linking up to the Perfectly Pink challenge at Cute Card Thursday and Anything Goes at Stamping Sensations.

Thank you for looking at my card!  Wishing you a joyful day!

(Originally I linked up this card to a CAS challenge at Less is More but have since deleted the entry as I found out I did not have enough white space to qualify for their challenge.)

  8. I think all my Lost Coast stamps are cats but how do we know they aren't girl cats, huh? Not that I'll have time to play but you never know. I really like your card and the colors. Good luck with using up that washi tape!!!

  9. WTG on using up more of that Washi hoard...you've got some really pretty designs on this pretty card. Love the image & the background. Liked the faded look of the Brillance ink, looks so vintage. Bet if you want it sharper focused, you could try the Versafine...I think that's supposed to pick up the 'details' better than any other. I usually forget to use it,myself. Love your sweet card. TFS & Hugs. (and I don't have a single one of this brand of stamps! How can this be?)
