Washi Tape Snowflake

Hi, everybody!  I'm back today with a CAS holiday card using washi tape.  I was inspired by my friend Donna and her set of washi tape cards.  When I saw a new way to use washi tape, I had to try it for myself.  I'm always looking for washi tape inspiration because I seem to have collected a small hoard of it!

I added three strips of washi tape to a white panel and die cut a snowflake (Lawn Fawn's Stitched Snowflakes).  I die-cut several more snowflakes, five I think, to layer beneath the top one.  The sentiment stamp is an old wood-mounted stamp from Plaid/All Night Media and I stamped it in Brilliance Mediterranean Blue. I finished off the card with three silver sequins.

I'm playing along over at Rudolph Day, which has a new home this year with Scrappy Mo, and I'm also supporting these other fun challenges:
  1. Blessings Ink Amusing Challenges AG (no digis) 1/2
  2. Hiding in My Craftroom Any Holiday (Christmas) 3/3
  3. My Craft Creations AG UE
  4. Not Just Cards AG UE
  5. One Crazy Stamper Blue and White and an Embellishment (sequins) 2/5
  6. {PIN}spirational Inspiration Photo (I was inspired by the winter theme) 1/5
  7. The Pink Elephant AG UE
  8. Top Tip Tuesday Something New (new way to use washi tape) (TIP) 1/3
  9. Stamp and Create Winter Wonderland 1/wk 3/4

Tip for Top Tip Tuesday:  Washi Tape can be repositioned.  If you place your washi tape and it's crooked, simply peel up and reposition.

Thank you for looking at my card!  Wishing you a joyful day!

  3. Kitty, this is just brilliant use of the washi...what a super, yet still CAS design. Love the way you've matched the snowflake exactly to the specific piece of washi on the card. (Oh my another stitched die! I love those things!). The gems really added so much to the 'brrr' feel of this pretty card. So happy you joined us for 2015's #1 Rudy Day. TFS & Hugs

  26. I like this idea for washi tape. Washi tape plus camouflaged die cuts--great combo. I have a small hoard of washi too, if by small you mean over 200 rolls. It's too much fun and there is always a design I 'need" like snowflakes!
