Happy Birthday Kitty in Basket

I was inspired to make this birthday card by the July colour challenge on the Official Magenta Blog.  I stamped the kitty in black on white cardstock, coloured with pencils, and mounted on a die-cut decorative square.  I layered patterned paper on to blue cardstock, which covered a white card base, and affixed the kitty panel with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment in black on the bottom right-hand corner and then embellished with a triple-layered flower, a butterfly charm tied with purple string, and three pink gems.  Here are the supplies I used:
  • Stamps:  Cat in basket (Magenta), sentiment (Stampcraft)
  • Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
  • Coloured Pencils:  Prismacolor
  • Cardstock:  Recollections
  • White Card Base:  Domtar
  • Patterned Paper:  Trimgym's Digistamps, Papers and Images (thank you, Jo!) 
  • Die:  Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares
  • Embellishments:  Flower, butterfly charm, string, gems (Dollarama)

    I love the stripes on the diagonal. They create great movement which makes me think Kitty is being gently rocked to sleep. The die cut frame sets this sweet image off beautifully. Thanks for joining our Happy Birthday challenge at Craft Your Passion this week. I hope we see you again soon.
